Bread making and painting

After our morning in the park in the rain yesterday, we came back home, and decided to warm up with making the girls very first home made rolls. With the idea, of an activity, rolled in with lunch.
Whilst shopping, I picked up a small pack of flour, which has everything you need for bread making, and you just add water... PERFECT!!

J managed to make it all by herself... just pour it in...

and pour the water in too...

...pop the lid on, and switch on for 5 minutes....

The result... sticky dough..... we let it rest for 5 minutes....

Then the girls were let loose to make their own bread rolls...

S wanted to eat it before it was cooked, and kept slipping little bits into her mouth...

J wanted a love heart...

And she wanted mummy to make a cat... HOW??

Does this look like a cat??

J also wanted a fairy, but couldn't do it... she asked mummy to try, and this was my result...

The final rolls....

We popped them on a baking tray, covered them with cling film, and let them rest for 30minutes...
And they came out perfectly cooked... just rather oddly shaped

Perfect with butter, and as they were still warm, the butter just melted on... mummy's weakness....fresh cooked bread and butter....
J ate her fairy.. and enjoyed it....
S picked the middle out of her snowman roll...
The final cat, twisted roll and the love heart...  The shapes didn't come out as well as we had hoped, but they tasted delicious...

It was still raining after lunch, so we got the craft stuff out.. Daddy watched S paint some sun catchers

Whilst I helped J decorate her shoe box for nursery...

She wanted it to sparkle.... LOTS.....

J soon wanted to do what S was doing... like usual.....
And Jinxy was curious about all the sparkles...

A rainy day full of activities... 2 happy girlies, and 4 full bellies...
