60 years young.....

Last month was Grandad M's 60th birthday. The girls made him his very own birthday cake for his special day, and then he flew out for his hols. With his birthday being when he was away, he planned a birthday/retirement meal for last night for close family and friends. So we all headed down to Alexandro's Greek restaurant.
Grandma bought balloons to make it feel more birthday like, and scattered some confetti around... little N, my nephew thought it was funny to try and eat these...

Its not very often the M cousins get together, but J idolises SB and N and S are so similar in age, they always enjoy each others company when they do see each other. So Grandad had all his grandchildren to help him celebrate yesterday....

and not forgetting the other guests too....

As you can tell there were smiles all around... you couldn't blame us there was wine flowing, and food being served... and lots of it, the children were behaving.... it was a celebration!!

Whilst we were waiting for the party to arrive, the kiddies had some olives, pittas, dips and halloumi cheese. The girls have never had olives before as both myself and Daddy M don't like them.... I don't think S liked them either... I managed to catch her first taste on camera...

Shortly after, everyone else started to arrive. And the rest of the food came flowing out...

I didn't get all the food on camera, as there was so much of it.... and it was all being eaten... my favourite of the night was the mashed potato, garlic and olive oil dip, and the wrapped vine leaves... delicious... Daddy liked the pork and chicken.... J enjoyed the chicken and the bread.... and S wasn't really eating much apart from bread and dip, preferring to fill up on pineapple juice instead....

Very early on into the meal my eldest nephew SB looked very bored.... do you think the same??

Luckily, I had packed both Innotab's and J's DS to help keep the boredom at bay for the younger ones... the girls had the Innotab's, so I offered the DS to SB, and he happily accepted.... the night then consisted of SB playing Mario karts and J watching...
J is looking very tired at this point!
Whilst the party atmosphere got in full swing....

After the dinner it was back to Grandmas and Granddad's for a glass of bubbly to celebrate this big milestone.... then we had to call it a night as Daddy M was on an early flight and up at 3am.

    1. Thank you. It was really nice, I don't think my waist line liked it, but my taste buds certainly did, and I will try and recreate when we have guests :-)
