Messy colourful fun in the garden...

Today the girls were still recovering from the late night last night. So I decided on a day in the garden. This way the girls still get to burn of the excess energy, but without burning too much, to hopefully avoid any meltdowns... it worked... we managed to have a nice chilled out day.
We started by planting the marigolds into the flower beds, as they started to look like they needed extra root room, as they looked like they were starting to die... (The picture shows the girls planting the seeds last months, compared to them today!)
J then had the job of watering all the plants as the heat has dried up all the soil over the last few days.
After all the plants were watered, it was then time to entertain the girls... this morning J said she wanted to paint, and S started jumping up and down with excitement, so I set it all up outside, this way its easier to clean up, and we could enjoy the fresh air...
After the girls had been painting for a while, I showed them that they could use more than a paintbrush to paint with... I showed them sticks, and daisies... and J came up with leaves and feathers... and both came up with HANDS!!! It led to great messy fun.... and wiping hands in the grass afterwards....
After it was all cleaned up... I was asked to join them on the trampoline... after some bouncing around fun (I cant bounce too much these days.... not since having 2 kiddies) I managed to grab some great shots of J's bouncing around fun... she is getting more height these days....
S soon started to notice J was getting all the attention, and wanted to join back in....
...the wind then started to pick up, and lunch time was calling, so we finished the morning on the swings before heading back inside for a chilled out afternoon of napping and cuddles watching Barbie films....
This perfect combination of morning chilled activities and afternoon od relaxing cuddles and films, resulted in no tired tantrums... RESULT!!!

  9. Lovely photos, it's all too easy to let them creep inside and watch a screen of some kind but there is so much fun to be had outside! #letkidsbekids

  10. Not sure if my first reply went through? So easy to let kids sit in front of a screen - but there is so much fun to be had outside! #letkidsbekids
