BLACKPOOL!!!!

Last week, we had arranged to go to Blackpool to see Cirque du hilarious at Central Pier. Daddy M was on standby in the morning, so we were keeping everything crossed that he didn't get called out, and thankfully he didn't. So after lunch we made the 90minute journey. I had a little bucket list in my head that I wanted us to do...
Build a sandcastle
Ride a 'Blackpool Donkey' on the beach
Have a paddle in the sea
Play in the amusements
Grab an ice cream
Chippy tea watching the waves

So once we parked up we headed straight to the sand.... at this point, I remembered I had left the bucket and spades at home... D'Oh! Daddy stopped to check something, so I asked the girlies to pose with the sea as a back drop... this was the result....

Which ended up in them dancing around pretending to be fairies and butterflies...

We then headed down the storm defence onto the beach...and headed straight for the donkeys...

J loved them, and before we had even asked, 'how much?' she had chosen the one with pink reins. It wasn't the rip off we were expecting, at £2.50 per child. And they are there every day, bar Fridays...

The girls happily posed with the donkeys whilst they were stationary, and the donkeys were great with the children.

....Until they started to move... J looked uneasy, and S burst into tears.... whoops... J soon got used to the movement, and daddy walked alongside S to reassure her, and both enjoyed the experience.... yeay!

After the donkeys, we realised we didn't have much time before the show started, so we posed quickly for a family photo now I am starting to learn the other features of the camera.. i.e. timer... then it was off to central pier....

We saw the advert on the front of the amusements.... and the girls got excited...

We made the mistake of walking down the pier to the very end, when in fact the show was at the front on the other side, but this meant a few more photo opps as daddy was with us...

Daddy's Girl

Then it was time for the "Cirque du Hilarious".... which is an entire post on its own... but would recommend if your in Blackpool.

After the show, we said the girls could a £ each for the 2p's machine... that went very quickly with J, but S was getting distracted as she couldn't reach the slots easily, and comfortably...

So we started on the games instead... J and Daddy love air hockey... but S couldn't reach up so she had to watch... one day S will be taller and can join in....

...but instead she could go on a car ride, and she sat in on the simulator flying ride with Daddy and J...

After the amusements, it was off to the fair ground on the pier, earlier when we went past we had promised the big wheel to J, and so Daddy took her up, S went on the toddler wheel, and shrieked with enjoyment on that, but the larger one, we felt was to unsecure to have a terrible 2's tot that high up...

those two single rides cost almost £10 so we decided to make tracks quickly before we spent all of daddy's wages...  so we headed for the beach for a paddle as we walked back to the car... as its not the cleanest of beaches its not that busy, even on hot days like this... and we were stepping over litter in places... but the girls sure do make great photographs....

...testing the water...

Wave jumping
So out of the bucket list we completed half, we didn't have time for anything else, but we still had a great day.... and lots of memories made...
Build a sandcastle
Ride a 'Blackpool Donkey' on the beach
Have a paddle in the sea
Play in the amusements
Grab an ice cream
Chippy tea watching the waves

We opted out of the chippy as S started to get a high temp, and not herself, so decided it was best to get out the sun. And due to the time, headed for the golden arches for their dinner on the way home, so no ice cream either... it wasn't missed though.
