North Pole Breakfast with Elf on a Shelf

On Sunday morning, our elves had left the girls a north pole breakfast, along with a letter. The letter explained that the new recruit 'Jingles' had snuck out the north pole and created this scene.... Buddy our usual elf discovered him, and left it to run its course under strict instructions that Christmas music was to be played, and that we all had to sit down and enjoy it as a family.... (J has a habit that she must sit in front of the TV to eat her toast!!)

To set the scene the elves bought along the table cloth and seat covers from B&M, which made it feel special instantly....

The food was set up.... Christmas themed cakes... crumpets in the shape of Christmas trees, and pancakes to look like snowmen.... and something new.... chocolate fondue.... with pancake left overs, marshmallows, strawberries and banana.... a very special hot chocolate was waiting in the fridge to be heated up too.

When the girls discovered it after a very very late night in London, the look of shock of J's face is a picture....  whereas S had spotted the marshmallows and wanted to dig in...

After mummy and daddy had their coffee, and the girls watched the elf on the shelf DVD that was placed along side, it was time to tuck in....

We let the girls cover their own pancakes with the syrups and sprinkles... S actually did it very carefully for a change....

Whereas J just emptied a whole tub of sprinkles out....

The bit the girls enjoyed most was the fondue.... both digging in, and getting messy and exploring....

After 5 minutes both girls stated they were full up, so they weren't too full of sugar. The pancakes weren't a hit really apart from decorating it. The cakes did go down well, and are still being sneaked in, with chairs pulled up to the side to reach, and hiding under the table to eat.... yes really I have caught S doing this...

The fondue I will definitely be bringing out for treat time, HUGE success!!!

Our elves didn't arrive on this day, but are now with us after their arrival on Monday!
