8 weeks...and still going...

So this week marks the 8 week mark. 8 weeks I have been actively trying to loose weight. This has been a combination of the fast diet, also known as the 5:2 diet, and about 4 weeks in, I added the Slimpod, "thinking slimmer" into the mix too. It hasn't been the easiest 8 weeks, with a cancer scare thrown into the mix too, with a 2 week wait for the tests. Thankfully, this week, I managed to get the all ok. What the GP saw, the gynaecologist wasn't concerned about. Phew, what a relief. Thankfully I only had to wait 2 weeks to get the all ok.
 
I managed the two fasts needed this week, unlike the last week. I also think I made the right decision on not weighing myself last week. I did have a sneak peek mid way through, and it was not a happy sight. So week 8 results....
 
 
I came in with a 1 Ib gain. I am not happy about it, but im not surprised. Week 6 and 7 really let me down. I caved into emotional eating, and drinking.
Thankfully, week 8 helped bring it back into a reasonable weight loss over the time. 7 Ib lost since 1st January. Im not going to grumble at that, I would rather it come off, then go on.
 
This week I have seen a real break through with the Slimpod. My cravings have not been for the chocolate, but instead, fish, and fresh vegetables and fruit. I do not usually do fish... but that's all I seem to crave. However, I am not brave enough just yet to test it out, and played it safe with fishcakes. My portions have reduced in size too.... I am not depriving myself either. If I want chocolate, or ice cream, I am allowing myself to have it. Portion control again, is under control. How can listening to a pod, for just 8 minutes a day, help my mind-set? I must admit though, I have been combining it with the chill pod too, and I think this is what has suddenly helped it even more, as I am an emotional eater. I have changed the time I have been listening, and pop it on at bedtime now instead of during the day. This means hubby has to listen too...  and yes, little changes are happening there too.
 
This week, I have noticed a change in inches. I bought a new pair of jeans at the end of January. The belt that came with it was on the 2nd notch... now I can do it up on the 4th comfortably, and at a push the 5th notch. However, I wouldn't want to sit down on the 5th notch., yet though. That is in just one month.... WOW...
 
Going into week 9, I am positive that I will loose the 2Ib I need, to keep me within my goal target of 1Ib a week.
Food wise, for the next three weeks, I will be trying out the Fast Diet Kitchen. This is for two days of the week, my fast days. This takes all the thinking out of the mix, and they look and sound delicious, and nutritional. I will have soup, and a main meal in the evening.

  4. So glad you got good news quickly to set your mind at rest - I should think losing weight was the last thing on your mind. So overall, that's not a bad result.   5. You have been through a rollercoaster so a 1lb gain is nothing to be disappointed about! A 2 week wait for the results is fantastic... I had to wait 4 weeks, over Christmas and it was always at the back of my mind. All is ok though for both of us which is fantastic. Looks like you are set for week 9 and hope it is going well... slow and steady is the key - losing weight whilst eating food always amazes me (despite the fact I am currently on shakes this week) and it's not an easy task.
