Styal Mill, enjoying the great outdoors

The birds were singing their heavenly songs, as the soft breeze cooled us down on the warm Sunday morning. We were in good spirits celebrating Grandad's birthday a day late. The girls were happy to be outside roaming, as us adults enjoyed the slow easy paced Sunday walk and catch up.

As the weather was so pleasant we decided to stay outside and explore all Styal Mill aka Quarry Bank had to offer rather then explore inside.
We started by walking along the footpaths in the old woods, which just led to a quick game of hide and seek. We had a very friendly Robin follow us on our walk.

Do you know the tale of the robins? That they are Santa's helpers? Always keeping an eye out for Santa? Come and check out the little guy in the video, and see for yourselves. do you believe?..

After the walk in the woods, we headed to the park for a picnic, and then toured the grounds gardens. The good old National Trust gave the girls a pack each for the duration of the visit to see what they could find....

Anyway, I didn't take my camera with me on this trip, instead I tried to capture our memories in a different way, hope you enjoy...

  5. What a lovely day out and I love your video diary of it. The game of hide and seek looked like it was a lot of fun and J and S look like they enjoyed hunting for bugs with the binoculars and magnifying glasses. That moment at the end with S and J blowing a dandelion clock is just adorable :-)

  7. It looks like you all had a great time out together, what a fab way to celebrate Grandad's birthday. I'm amazed at how close you managed to get to that robin, I bet the girls were excited to be so close to nature. Those packs the national trust gave the girls look fab, did they spot anything interesting with them? Thanks for linking up with Country Kids.
