Brewers Fayre Chefs Counter Review

Eating out with children can sometimes be a nightmare. We have been there in the past, you order food and wait an age for anything to be served up. Children are sometimes that hungry and irritable they just need food. Straight away. Often when they are like that and we are caught out and about we usually end up a fast food outlet, however, I have just found out Brewers Fayre now do an all  you can eat buffet which is instant pub food. No waiting to be cooked and served up.

Monday - Curry Night,
Tuesday - Viva Mexico.
Wednesday - Burgers & Hotdogs
Thursday - Curry Night
Friday - Chip Shop
Saturday - World of Chicken
Sunday - Carvery

Adults meals range from £6.49 to £9.99 depending on which day you attend. Children's meals are £4.49.
We went along on Wednesday to Brocklebank in Crewe to try it out. We chose Wednesday as it was burger and hotdog night, we knew the girls would be easily pleased. The counter opens at 5pm until 8pm, and you can go up as many times as you please.

Arriving at 5pm we hoped to get tucked in straight away to the promised burgers, corndogs, hotdogs and sauces. Unfortunately they were slow at getting it ready. The main burger patties, chips, onion rings and potato dippers were ready along with beans, bacon and mushrooms. However, there was no buns for hotdogs or burgers. There were no condiments or salad. After prompting twice for buns, some dried out, close to being stale buns were placed out 25minutes after opening. Once the deputy manager was made aware the salad finally appeared too.
I felt there was something missing when I was there so checked the menu when I got home. I believe many more condiments were missing like burger relish, spicy mayo, and gherkins. I'm not sure if they are branch dependant like some of the drinks that were on the menu, that this particular branch did not stock, or whether it was forgotten like the basic rolls for burgers and hotdogs.
We didn't dwell on what we didn't have, but made the most of what we did. When we visited Florida a few years ago the girls were introduced to Corndogs. They could finally have them again.

Whilst J enjoyed tucking into a HUGE burger....
Perhaps we just arrived on a bad day? On a positive note; The food was hot,  the chicken breasts were moist and the burgers were meaty. For the price of the all you can eat it is great value, and if served up on time would be perfect for families in a rush.
*We were given a £50 voucher to try out the Chefs counter at Brewers Fayre. All photos, words and opinions are my own.

Family Fever

  1. I am not a fan of pub food normally but this looks yummy.

  2. Such a shame that they weren't ready at 5pm or even close to that time with everything out. It's always harder when you are with children too as whilst we can wait they don' understand why the food isn't ready.

  3. The burger in the last photo looks absolutely massive x

  4. This looks fab and I like occasional pub food so prices are good too!i am hungry

  5. I don't think we have a Brewers Fayre near us, but it's a shame when you expect something after seeing it online and it doesn't appear. That burger did look good though #triedtested

  6. We don't normally go to Brewers Fayre but I might give it a go at some point if it's kid friendly :-)

I enjoy reading every single comment, Thank you.
