More drinks review

My weight loss journey is now in full swing. I think I have got my small holiday weight gain back off and my energy levels are rising. My twisted knee ligament seems to have healed much quicker then anticipated too so the exercise has started again. I have chosen to start the Couch to 5k programme again as I enjoyed it so much last time I completed it, albeit a few years ago now.

Due to my hip injury caused by my pregnancies I can only painlessly run on a treadmill. Any slight hill causes me pain so its treadmill or no running. I have so far completed two runs now and the second run was much faster then the first.

The times look slow, but as its following a programme downloaded on to my phone it includes a 5 minute walk for warm up, and again cool down. I have my running shoes which were fitted just for my funny run  gait, along with my running leggings and my keep dry running top. That does not mean I'm ready to get running though.

Hydration is a key part to running. I find if I am dehydrated my stamina is appalling and my speed slows down. I also sweat ALOT, of course I do, I'm just getting back into fitness, which means I need to make sure I top all the lost water and minerals back up again. However, I am also trying to loose weight. There are sports drinks that have all the vitamins and minerals in them, but also crammed with lots of sugar too. Instead I use More drinks, the Minerals version which is still cranberry and pomegranate.

No Make up selfie, post run!
The 500ml bottle is perfect for the length of my runs at the moment. Containing only 9 calories, and made using natural flavours and spring water it is a great choice for my weight loss journey. The bottle contains 15% of a recommended daily amount of Potassium, Calcium and Magnesium. These help combat fatigue, helps maintain a healthy blood pressure, bones and teeth. What is there not to like?

The flavour is fruity, and powerful. Its a nice refreshing hit when pounding the treadmill, however since cutting sugar down dramatically the past few weeks I did notice a sweetener after taste. The downside to low calories.

The drink did its job. I have not been dizzy or thirsty whilst running, nor hit with fatigue later in the day. Hubby has also had a few bottles whilst recovering from a summer cold and gave no complaints on the sweetener taste, just happy for the extra mineral hit.

What do you drink whilst running or exercising?

*I was sent a hamper of more drinks for the purpose of my review. All words photos and opinions are my own.
