S loves picking flowers. Any little walk she does or play in the garden involves picking flowers. They soon die and need to go in the bin. When I got the chance to review the Instant Flower Press by Interplay I thought it was a great idea so we can keep the little tokens she gifts us.
The box is small and compact, and inside includes a plastic press, 4 sheets of foam, two pieces of cotton fabric and some pegs to lock the press in place along with the instruction book.
After receiving the Flower Press we couldn't find any wild flowers to pick ready for pressing, just our luck, typical! However the supermarket had these gorgeous bright pink flowers which are ideal.
Following the instructions in the booklet we placed the flower head between the layers and secured the press. Popped it in a microwave along with a cup of water for just 20 seconds. This was so short that it kept S's attention the whole time.
After the 20 seconds we undid the press to be greeted with a beautifully pressed and dried flower.
Growing up as a child I remember pressing flowers for weeks in big heavy books, so I was completely shocked at how little time and effort went it to.
We then turned our pressed flower into a beautiful decoration for a card. S loves it. I can see our home made greeting cards will get a complete flower make over.
With how quick and simple the press works I can see it coming out ALOT in the spring and summer months as it really is as quick as placing them in the press and zapping them in the microwave. I have already searched Pinterest for pressed flower ideas and I can see floral paper weights being gifted as home made gifts this year as just one of the many crafts we can do with the beautifully pressed flowers.
The flower press retails at £9.99 which makes it a great affordable stocking filler. It sure has received the thumbs up from us here!
